July 4th 1968
Every 4th of July I remember the great fireworks display at Con Thien that I watched from A 3. The minefield on fire was spectacular and unmatched by any current fireworks display!

Was @ A3 the prior month--June 1968. Had moved to Con Thien/C2 Washout by July 4th. A3 was an eerie place--almost touching the southern end of the DMZ. Can just imagine what that minefield looked like when on fire.
