Hot Landing Zones and Firefights

On October 1, the BLT shifted further north and east.

 

The 81s platoon lost two Marines and suffered 21 wounded from 130mm artillery fire landing on LZ Duster. The mortarmen suspected that their highly-visible mortar tubes made them an inviting target.

An hour later, G Company got into a firefight and lost two more Marines.
