Petty Officer Second Class Cecil Wayne Carothers, Altoona, Pennsylvania, age 22.
Killed by enemy artillery fire while attached to BLT 2/26 as it operated in the vicinity of Camp Carroll just prior to LZ Margo.
PO2 Carothers was remembered along with the other fallen at a memorial service aboard the USS Princeton.
