It's been a few weeks since anyone has posted so I thought see how everyone is doing. As usual, not much going on here in Northern Illinois. It seems like one day just blends into the next. Lauren and I haven't socialized a great deal and have managed to stay healthy. Our weather hasn't been too bad, so I can't complain about that. We haven't had much snow and it hasn't been very cold. I think we've used our fireplace more this year than in any of the 40 years we've lived here. Admittedly, it does make things toasty for my daily afternoon nap. I'm really looking forward to warmer weather and being able to spend time outdoors. Other that, same old stuff. Thinking about everyone this morning and praying you're all well. Have an awesome day and stay healthy. Semper Fi

Wow, John. That’s crazy!
O' and i forgot to Mention, Had the Covid Twice-Dec-20th 2019 and Dec 8th 2020. I am ok, THANK-GOD. FYI It was Half as Severe the second time around around. :)
John Kelly here (81mm Mortars) Very glad to here that everyone is still sucking air. Things are pretty good here, can't complain after 2 tours 26th Marines and 7th Marines. I have all my body parts and they all work pretty good. I know how blessed I am. Thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year. Will keep you all in my daily prayers. God Bless! Semper Fi!
So glad you're doing better, Jerry. You know the old saying, "If we were horses, they would have probably shot us a long time ago." Larry, you nailed it! It's so easy to get caught up in the negativity. There's so much good going on in this world that we don't hear about. Unfortunately, good news doesn't sell newspapers or attract viewers on the nightly news. We are so very, very fortunate and blessed. We are United States Marines and we never give up. God Bless. Semper Fi
Good to hear you're doing better Jerry. I assume the rest of the family is well; sure hope so. Also good to know you and Lauren are doing well Steve. Things have been so-so for me. Good health, but lots going on and it's not the kind of 'busy' I'd like to have. Had a friend of fifty five (55) years--since my Junior year in high school--pass away in July and he had asked me to be the Executor of his estate. So I am. It's the last favor I'll ever be able to do for him and he sure did plenty for me. All is going fairly well, it's not complicated since he knew it was coming--Agent Orange, the 'gift' that keeps on giving--so he paid off his house and bills. The only issue is dealing with the government, getting the VA death benefits to which he is entitled and arranging to have him interred @ a national cemetery. Shows the importance of prior planning since we all know that day will come.
Take care of yourselves everyone. Keep positive, look for the good and pray. God has been good to me and I hope he has been good to all of you too.
Semper Fidelis!!!
Not much going on here in St Louis area either. Glad you guys are staying healthy. I myself have not been so lucky. November I spent 15 days in hospital with COVID-19. Got over that and spent the next few weeks at home with no outside visits. End of December thought I had heartburn so went to urgent care. They sent me to ER. Got admitted again to hospital. X-ray and CT showed gallbladder problem. They decided to go in and take out my gallbladder. Not a good way to end the year, but I am still here and kicking. Semper Fi and stay safe.
