I was with "E" Co at LZ Margo on the 16th of September 1968 and was wounded and medevaced to Dong Ha. Corporal Victor Perez Jr was my best friend as we had signed on together to go to Vietnam after serving with the Marine Detachment aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard CVA 31 in 1968. We lost some good Marines that day and I could never understand why they sent us to an area where the NVA had evrything grided in and waiting for us to arrive to unlease hell on us. I firmly believe that if we had taken them on head to head the outcome would've been a lot different. Semper Fi Marines.
