My license plate is WHSKY6. Most folks probably guess that I'm on my way to an AA meeting.

Members of this Forum, however, will recognize my pride in my radio call sign from my year leading the men of the 81mm mortar platoon of 2/26. Quite simply, no experience before or since can compare to that. I am a better man for having served with our nation's finest men.

My wife Mary Jean and I have two great kids and five grandkids who we live to spend time with. My career was writing software and my passion is trail running.

Having survived what we survived I start each day with a smile and a lot of gratitude. Every day is indeed a blessing.
