    Checkin' in

    in Message Board

Things have been pretty quiet on the site for awhile. Just thought I'd check in and see how everyone is doing. Things are good here in northern Illinois. The weather has been hot and muggy. One day seems to run into the next and I really have to think about what day of the week it is. They've relaxed some of our COVID-19 restrictions, but I'm still concerned about going out and being around people. The good news is that I've been able to put some miles on the Corvette. Unfortunately, they've canceled all of the cruise nights and car shows in our area. I'm meeting our son, Steve, in Colorado Springs in 3 weeks to go camping. He lives in Phoenix and I haven't seen him in awhile. I'm going to drive, and I'm really looking forward to the road trip and spending time with him. Stay healthy and God Bless. Semper Fi

Good to hear from all. Glad all are doing OK. Cooling down here in St Louis. Not much going on. Lost three of our dogs this past year. Two to cancer and one to old age. Still have on of or rescues that is now 9 years old. Have not been able to babysit with all of this going on. Sure do miss the kids and grand kids.

So sorry to hear about your dogs, Jerry. We've had to put down 2 dogs and a cat over the years and each time it's like someone ripping your heart out. We put our 22-year old cat down about 4 years ago and low and behold, a stray shows up on our front porch a few months later. She's the same breed as our other cat. I named her Angel because I think she was sent by God.

Hope you get to see your children and grandchildren soon. That's a bummer. We've been able to spend time with our grandchildren, which always brightens our day. Things have gotten a little better here, but I'm still leery about being around a bunch of people.

Stay well and healthy my friend. God Bless. Semper Fi

Mostly pretty mellow here in the mountains of Western North Carolina; really enjoyable when I'm not on the road.

Glad to hear you are doing well and going to spend some quality time with your son. We are doing well just trying to stay healthy. It is really hot and humid here in central Florida. Quite an adjustment from Alaska! Take care and God Bless.

Keep up the GREAT work my Brother. Forget who it was who said it, but 'no man is gone until he is forgotten.' Your making sure our friends are not forgotten is most important.
